My name is Robert G. Schuck, and I launched Unique Resources in 1987, when Baltimore’s historic Inner Harbor neighborhoods were undergoing tremendous revitalization. I quickly discovered that my expertise in traditional building methods gave me a powerful advantage and “unique resource” for clients seeking to retain the old-world charm of historic homes while integrating modern building systems and amenities. The company includes a crew of long-time employees with wide-ranging skills and abilities in specialized areas of home construction and restoration. The result is a company with collective “unique resources” dedicated to quality craftsmanship and personal client service.

Highly recommended. Robert Schuck and his crew did a major job on our pre-1900 house in downtown Baltimore. Honest estimates of the cost of the work; real craftmanship. This organization prides itself on its integrity and the quality of their work. An example is the job done on a parquet floor that had been covered with ugly wall-to-wall carpeting. The floor, which has a thin veneer, was seriously dirty at the start. Sanding, if not done with care, could have ruined the floor. I now cannot believe how splendid it looks. Same thing with all framing, drywall, masonry, painting, etc. And Unique Resources subcontracts only with the best electricians and plumbers in the business.

We discovered sometime after the fact that the tremendous snow storms we had here in Baltimore a few years ago had crushed the huge hand-hewn beams that support the roof of our historic brick townhome in Mount Vernon. We contracted Robert to undertake the tricky and very extensive repairs. Not only did he do a first-rate and timely job, but he also helped us to arrange coverage under our insurance policy for the damage caused by the weight of the snow, which paid for the job.
